Understanding Eczema Triggers
Eczema is complicated. There is no single easy, magical solution to heal it. However, there are many ways to help manage eczema through a healthy environment, beautiful and nutritious foods and simple, consistent skincare. Every family’s eczema journey can look a little different. Paying close attention to the things around us that trigger eczema flareups is key. Things like chemicals, fragrances, what we wear and the foods we eat. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound in cure.
A Mindful Environment
Every choice we make in our home including laundry choices, scented candles, how and what we use to clean, air and water quality can all contribute to eczema. Making mindful choices regarding the products we use and how we operate our home is so important.
Having a kind, consistent, simple skincare routine everyday allows the skin to stay calm, adjust and heal. Switching frequently, trying samples or using a variety of skincare products can aggravate the skin and can actually make eczema and skin irritation worse.
Be your little’s eczema advocate!
It only takes one day, one event, one moment for eczema prone, sensitive skin to become inflamed and irritated. Don’t be afraid to be your children’s voice when it comes to their eczema. Explaining to friends, family and teachers what the condition is and how they can help can truly make a world of difference. It takes a village and we are all in this together!
Be loving, stay consistent and have patience
Some days will be easy and some days will have their challenges. Results from hard work and dedication happen over time, not over night. Keep a loving mind, stay consistent and have patience.
