When I first started looking for Vinnie's skincare solutions, I tried every skincare product geared towards eczema. Some seemed to improve his skin for a short period; others seemed to make it worse. I learned over time that creams, ointments, and even prescribed topical products aren't the answer. Eczema requires mindful and holistic management. Here are a few simple tips for making kind skincare choices for eczema.
Avoid soap or cleansing agents as much as possible.
Choose a fragrance-free soap and shampoo and use it sparingly.
Triple rinse to ensure no soap residue is left behind.
Avoid bubble baths or sitting in soapy water.
Choose a simple, fragrance- free, natural moisturizer and apply morning and night and liberally after bath to damp skin.
Along with my skincare collections Organic Barrera and Barrera Nut Free, I also really like the Tubby Todd All Over Ointment and have heard of some of my eczema families having good results using Burt's Bees products and for sensitive skin that has a difficult time using natural products, I recommend some products by Eau thermale Avène. I encourage you to try and see what works best for your family. Just be sure to make fragrance-free selections and also commit to using it for a minimum of 7 days.
